“Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40
Believing that each of us needs to be Christ’s hands in our community, we invite you to join with us as we contribute out time, energy and resources to these activities.
Elijah’s Pantry operates out of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in the Logan Square neighborhood or Chicago. We collect food at the beginning of each month to deliver to the pantry. We also support the Maine Township Food Pantry in Park Ridge. Use the Shopping list for most needed items. A special effort is made to encourage families to donate 40 items of food during the 40 days of Lent and to donate turkeys at Thanksgiving.
Crop Hunger Walk is an annual event in the Park Ridge and Niles communities. Join our walkers each October to support both Church World Service and the Maine Township Food Pantry.
Journeys from PADS to Hope in Des Plaines provides food and shelter for those who have no place to spend the night during the cold months from October through April.
Sunday Suppers at St. Paul of the Cross, where we take our turn once each month in providing a hot meal for those in need.
Bethel New Life in the Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago seeks to empower families by offering community services for education, health, shelter, and employment. Join us in adopting an individual or family especially at Christmas.
