Holden Village Trip

On Sunday October 16, Our Holden Village Pilgrims share their experiences at the Adult Forum.

On Monday morning, August 1st, nineteen adults and youth from St. Luke’s boarded a ferry boat in Chelan, Washington to travel north on beautiful Lake Chelan, then took a school bus up into the mountains on switchback roads until they arrived at the remote Lutheran retreat center (once a copper mining town) of Holden Village.

They participated in a wide variety of activities designed for all ages, attended lectures and Bible studies, hiked the numerous mountain trails, made pottery and wove belts and runners, spent quiet time reading on the front porch of the dormitory, sat in an outdoor jacuzzi, ate an abundance of organically grown foods and home baked bread, shared experiences with people from all around the world, and worshiped together as a community every evening.   We have lots to share so stay tuned for our Adult Forum on October 16!

Many thanks to Melinda Hoiland for leading our group on this adventure!
