Trouble the Water Screening.
We're excited to announce the screening of this award-winning
film about Hurricane Katrina (learn more at the film
Web site).
At least one of the directors, Tia Lessin, will join us for
the screening and give a brief talk with Q&A time after the
film! The screening will take place at the Pickwick
Theatre in Park Ridge (5
S. Prospect) on Monday, July 13 at 7pm. Doors will
open 6:30pm, the film will go from 7pm-8:35pm, and Tia will
speak and field questions from 8:35pm-9pm. After the formal
screening and talk back, all are welcome to join us in our
fellowship hall (we are just a block from the theatre at
205 N. Prospect) for a reception and more formal moderated
conversation specifically geared toward the response of the
faith community to Katrina as well as what this all means for
our youth attending the
ELCA Youth Gathering this summer. For more information or
to RSVP for the reception, please contact Jeannine Oakes at
joakes@stlukespr.org. |
