Holy Week
As we journey toward the celebration of Christ’s resurrection, we invite you and your family to observe the events of Holy Week (April 1-8) with your friends and neighbors at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Global COW Dinner
Wednesday, March 21, 5:15-6:45 Global Come-On-Wednesday (COW) Dinner will feature home-cooked foods from around the world provided by the Global Links team. Come and sample a different taste of the world, with peanut butter and jelly for those who may be a little less adventurous. Your purchase price for your dinner ticket will be donated to ELCA World Hunger.
MSHS Recitals at St. Luke’s
The Maine South Orchestras will present two free chamber recitals at St. Luke’s on Friday, March 9 and Monday, March 12, both at 7:00 PM. These concerts are a culmination of a 10-week chamber music unit when the students have been working in small ensembles to prepare a particular piece of music. St. Luke’s members Jenny Calahan, Britta Hoiland, Tessa Schiffers, Greta and Soren Ramsey will perform. The concerts will be different from each other, involving different students each evening. 40 Days 40 Items
40 days of Lent! 40 items of Food for Elijah’s Pantry in Logan Square! This food drive is a rewarding tradition at St. Luke’s. The food will be taken to the pantry on Palm Sunday, April 1. See the pantry’s wish list or on the bulletin board. A sign up sheet is there to determine the number of vans the Social Ministry Team will need to deliver the food. Cash is also welcome! Blood Drive
Give the gift of life! LifeSource professional staff will be at St. Luke’s on Thursday, March 29 from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Bring identification and plan to stay an hour, including time for rest and refreshments following your donation. Ash Wednesday February 22
Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m., (a light lunch is served at noon following the service) and 5:00 p.m. (family service with music by the children’s choirs) and 7:30 p.m. (music by the adult choirs) Lenten Vespers will be held each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
