Reformation 500 Commemoration

St Luke’s Commemorates the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation

September 17 at 2:30 p.m. Lutheran–Catholic Common Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017 at Mary Seat of Wisdom Roman Catholic Church, 920 Granville Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60068
Presiders:  Bishop Wayne Miller and Bishop Frank Kane, Pastor Richard Johnson and Father Jerry Gunderson
Readers and Musicians from both churches will participate in the service.

October 15 at 4:00 p.m. Hymn Festival “Through the church the song goes on . . .” at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 1234 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004
Guest organist:  Joel Martinson leads combined choirs and brass ensemble from St. Luke’s and Our Saviour’s in a program of Lutheran hymnody from the Reformation to the present day.

October 29 at 10:00 a.m. One Festival Service to Commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, incorporating combined choirs, brass, and handbells, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect, Park Ridge, IL 60068

October 21  October Fest 6:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Join Brother Martin at his table for a festive evening. Bring your home brew or favorite beer or wine to share. Soft drinks will be provided. Enjoy an Octoberfest spread of Pork Schnitzel and spätzle, Bratwurst, Hot Dogs, Potato Salad, a Green Salad and Apple Pie and German Chocolate Cake catered by Perry’s  Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children.  Music! Games! Entertainment!

October 31 at 7:00 p.m. “Renewing Covenant” Lutheran–Catholic Common Commemoration of the Reformation in 2017 at Holy Name Cathedral, 730 N Wabash Ave., Chicago, IL 60611
