Let Your Light Shine

“Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”     Matthew 5:16

As we embark on our second three-year capital campaign, 2011-2014, you are encouraged to prayerfully consider how your light will shine so that God may be glorified.

All members of St. Luke’s were encouraged to attend at least one of the “Tell the Story” events.  You heard the story of our church’s plan for growth and ministry and have had opportunity to share your ideas, hopes and dreams for our future.

Sunday, April 10, Commitment Sunday; Sunday School children presented items they have gathered to aid refugee families.

Thank you for participating in Commitment Sunday on April 10. Your three-year pledge will help raise more than $1 million. Over the next 39 months, St. Luke’s will be making mortgage payments of $18,431 per month. Beyond that, your extra-mile giving will be used to pay down the mortgage balance.

Please complete your “Growing in Faith” pledge commitment as the first campaign officially concludes June 30, 2011. “Let Your Light Shine” picks up there to make possible these new monthly payments. When the mortgage adjusts to current market rates on September 1, 2014, St. Luke’s aims to have the mortgage balance (currently more than $2 million) reduced significantly so that the monthly payment would fall to $9,000/month. The mortgage is scheduled to be paid in full in 2031.
