Holy Week

You are invited to worship during Holy Week (April 9-16) with friends and neighbors at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.  All are welcome to mark the path of Jesus Christ beginning with the singing of glorious “Hosannas” on Palm (Passion) Sunday, continuing through the institution of the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday, the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday, the salvation stories heard at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, and the celebration of the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Sunday of the Passion (Palm Sunday) April 9,  8:30 and 11:00 am — Services with the Procession of Palms, Reading from the Passion according to St. Matthew, Holy Communion

Maundy Thursday, April 13, Services with Foot washing and Holy Communion, 11:00 am — Service followed by a Soup Luncheon at Noon. 7:00 pm — First Communion service, concludes with the Stripping of the Altar.

Good Friday, April 14, 12:00 noon — The Seven Last Words of Christ; an ecumenical service of readings and reflections by members of the Park Ridge Ministerial Association, with musical reflections by the Montag Ensemble String Quartet. 7:00 pm — Service includes the Passion according to St. John, Adoration of the Cross

Vigil of Easter: April 15, 7:00 pm — Worship with blessing of new fire, readings, affirmation of baptism and Holy Communion

Easter Sunday: April 16, Festival of the Resurrection  Services with Holy Communion 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (Easter Breakfast at 9:30 a.m.)
