Meeting Change
Dear church,
August is arriving with an abundance of activity at St. Luke’s. We are welcoming new staff, beginning new ministries, preparing for a full program year, and feeling a wonderful sense of excitement and momentum. At the same time, even good change can bring some uncertainty. When much is happening at once, we may wonder how everything will come together or where we will find our place.
In Matthew’s Gospel, the disciples look at a hungry crowd and see all that they do not have. Jesus invites them instead to bring forward what is already among them. He receives it, blesses it, and discovers abundance where others had seen only scarcity.
Perhaps that is our invitation in this season: to meet change with curiosity rather than fear, and to trust that Christ is among us. We do not need to have every answer or anticipate every need. We can bring what we have, remain open to one another, and trust God to provide more than we can yet imagine.
See you in worship,
Pastor Kyle
