FROM THE PASTOR

What God is Already Doing

Dear church,

I’ve been spending a few days at Holy Wisdom Monastery in Wisconsin, making space for some rest and renewal, while also working with my prayer partner on a revision of the prayer book we have been shaping together. These beautiful fall days have been nourishing.

This weekend I’ll also be attending my first meeting as a member of the Board of Trustees at Augustana College. Augustana is a place that formed me deeply – in faith, vocation, friendship, and so much of the person and pastor I have become. It feels meaningful, and certainly humbling, to have an opportunity now to give back to an institution that has given so much to me.

All of it has me thinking about the many ways God’s work happens in our lives. Sometimes it looks like doing and accomplishing. Sometimes it looks like stepping away, listening, creating, learning, or simply making enough space to notice what God is already doing.

I’m grateful for all the ways God continues to be at work among us.

See you in worship,
Pastor Kyle
